Introducing Frame Views at my Etsy shop

Yes, so now you can see how the Influid Series paintings look framed!  Each painting on paper is $25, plus shipping.  Visit my Sites of Intuition Etsy Store to browse.

I am currently producing more of these; they will be posted in the coming days to the Store.

Thank you sincerely, as always, for supporting working artists.  You are the heroes.

More of the Influid series to come; new spring project (very ambitious)

The response has been very positive to my newest paintings, the Influid Series. Painting these small works is fun, and allows for a variety of surprising results, which add to the growth of my ideas for larger, more ambitious works. I am preparing to move to a new studio in Illinois...which is like a retreat in many ways. The quiet, small town atmosphere will allow me to become more meditative, and focused- not only on the Influid and other rectangular paintings, but a much more ambitious group of installation-based, drawing influenced projects to come. One of these I anticipate for completion in the spring, as more of an analysis and a fractal breakdown of visual conversations within conversations about, and comprising, the way I work as a painter.

I added a new piece to Etsy...

A new look; mission, and my Etsy Store reopens!

Well, here we are, with an all new look. I have reopened my Etsy Store, with an entire line of all-new, small paintings on acid-free paper. These are like studies, really- a way for me to generate new ways of markmaking in a really intimate way. And I decided to make them very affordable, which I encourage other working artists to try; in a way of "sharing more candy" amongst those of us who love art but are unable to afford it. This is the Influid Series, based on the natural wave forms I have been working with in my latest pieces.

One new feature to arrive soon at this 'ole blog of mine: St. Louis Artist Profiles. Let's share a little more. -jrab

New Painting; SAVE THE GIRLS, A Breast Cancer Awareness Exhibition

SAVE THE GIRLS is an exhibition curated by Flax Gallery director Jenn Carter to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure. The response to the call for art was tremendous; this show will fill not only the Flax Gallery, but will include the entire main gallery at ArtDimensions' 3rd Floor Gallery, 1214 Washington Ave. The opening reception is on Friday, October 16th, from 7 to 11 PM. Art will be auctioned; a portion of the proceeds will benefit research and other efforts to fight this unfortunately pervasive disease, which affects a number of strong women whom I personally know. I am honored to be a part of this exhibition.

A new painting, as promised...many more to come.

Confirmed for Poetry Scores...

I will be participating the fourth Poetry Scores Art Invitational, Friday, Nov. 13 at The Luminary Center for the Arts in south St. Louis. Each artist will create an artwork based on a line from the poem "The Sydney Highrise Variations", by Australian poet Les Murray. There's more information here on the project. Meanwhile, here's an image of my entry from last year, "Soak themselves in camphor, swallow..."
